The natural waters and brooklets of the mighty Ötztal Glaciers are meandering on 42 kilometers through the valley. On its way down, the glacier waters show all their natural facets, from silently running creeks to roaring white water areas. These are perfect conditions for ambitious kayak athletes who can take advantage of real technical challenges in Ötztal from May to October, depending on the water level. A thrilling ride on swirling white water through the mighty ravines and narrow gorges takes you to the wide open brook bed of the Ötztaler Ache: an adventure that not only guarantees variety but also the ultimate thrill for real adrenaline junkies!
Kajak Tracks in the Ötztal Valley
Slalom Track Oetz
A permanent 350-meter canoe track with 42 flexible gates and a small start house with Internet access was installed in Oetz. Canoeists and canoe clubs can use it free of charge for training purposes and races from early May to late October.
