Nederkogl peak is Sölden's most famous landmark, towering high above the village. The trail via Lenzenalm hut and Nedersee lake goes up very steeply. But on top you are rewarded with stunning panorama of some other 3,000 meter highmountains in the  Ötztal and Stubai Alps.

Author’s recommendation

On the descent, the Lenzenalm is right on the path and invites you to make a stop.

Busstopp Lenzenalm - Zwieselstein/Sölden

Turn-by-turn directions

The hike starts directly at the bus stop Lenzenalm or at the parking lot Lenzenalm.

From there it takes about 1 hour to the Lenzenalm. It goes up comfortably on a wide forest road through the forest. Always slightly uphill, but not particularly exhausting. The last ascent to the hut is a bit steeper, but then you can enjoy the view to Gurgl.

From the Lenzenalm you go through the forest for a short while - over mountainsides to the nearby Nedersee (2435m, short detour possible) - on a very steep climb you get over hairpin bends in the northeast ridge.

About rough rocks it goes either on the ridge (markings) or in the east flank (also marked) up to the summit.

The descent from the Nederkogel is the same as the ascent!
