All those who are true hiking lovers indulge in this passion also during the cold season. Warm clothes, woolen hat, scarf and winter-proof footwear: look forward to an adventure in the fresh winter air. Also snowshoe hikers are ready to go in almost no time. The trendy alternatives to skiing in Lower Ötztal have already become a new boom: well-groomed and signposted winter hiking trails lead through snow-covered meadows and forests while guided tours are also offered as an exciting off-road variant.
Running parallel to the old Windach road, accessible via Route 651 Kleble Alm. The red Windach Alm Trail travels through picture-book Windachtal valley. There are no mountain lifts so you reach the trail only by using your own muscle power.
A quite easy and very flowing trail that travels above and almost parallel to the old Windach Forest Trail. This route is much broader than other passages, and features grippy pebble stones or sandy forest soil also rideable in wet weather. Caution at the gate in the first quarter: be careful when opening it as the slope is steeply inclining on the left side. Later the trail crosses the old Windach Forest Trail twice. Please pay special attention to walkers and hikers.
You can perfectly combine the Waindach Trail with other routes in Sölden's Silent Part: for example, the Lochle Alm Trail (6014) or the black and very challenging Jägers Notweg Trail (673). Jägers Notweg is reserved to very skilled bikers!
Bergbahnen Sölden, Mag. Jakob Falkner
This one is a Shared Trail highly frequented by walkers and hikers.
The trail crisscrosses the Forest Road several times.
