The rushing waters of Ötztaler Ache accompany hikers on the easy walking route along the riverbank and towards the edge of the forest. On the broad gravel trail you reach the lower viewing platform. Here you get a first impression of the elemental forces of water and the rockslides of many millennia ago. The wooden bridge fits perfectly into the forest area. Standing on the bridge you can feel experience the truly overwhelming power of Alpine waters close up. Enjoy fine water spray on your face and listen to the roaring Ache mountain river.The eye-catching course of the river is the result of a huge rockslide at the end of the last Ice Age. On the traces of wild animalsOver there a cheeky badger sitting in the tree says hi, a little marmot squeaks happily on a small wood pile. Young snow adventurers discover all kinds of masterfully recreated wild animals along the children's course in Hochoetz. Skiers who are able to ski down on "red" slopes effortlessly take the turnoff to the child-friendly adventure route at the bottom of the ski run no. 9. Interesting information boards with excitingly prepared content inform about Alpine animals in their natural habitat. After passing the 10 stations, the trail joins ski run no. 9 again. Afterwards, all nature explorers can return comfortably to the Hochoetz top station by taking a ride on the Ochsengarten mountain gondola.All you need to know about the Alpine animals pictured along the children's course can be found in the separate flyer which is available directly at the ski ticket office.
The mirror of the mountains.The lake is a popular destination for young and old.Swimming is allowed at the bathing area and rowing boats can be rented. In summer, the lake reaches a water temperature of up to 24°C, making it one of the warmest bathing lakes in Tyrol.You can reach Lake Piburg from Oetz, Habichen, Piburg or Sautens on many different hiking and walking trails.
