Hiking with all senses makes sense

Mindful walking can be meditative by strengthening consciousness and increasing joie de vivre. These wonderful "side effects" of a hiking tour were put in the spotlight by young students from Oetz when they installed the Hochoetz Trail of Senses. A project with depth for all hikers who want to get further not only on the marked route but also in a personal way.

Walking, reflection and contemplation

The contemplative journey in the Hochoetz pasture region, which was classified as a moderately difficult hike, was designed by young students of the Oetz secondary school in the course of a joint project with their teachers. The theme trail leads from the top station of Acherkogel mountain gondola past new Bielefelder Hütte to old Bielefelder hut, further on to Acherbergalm and back to Acherkogel mountain gondola (walking time: approx. 2.5 hours). Eight stations with contemplative thoughts accompany you through the awe-inspiring Alpine landscape and into the wideness of your soul. A brochure that describes all the stations with matching texts is available for free at the gondola's base station.
