Big feet, great fun

Little equipment, quick learning plus heaps of fun. That probably best describes this gentle type of winter sport. The lightweight snowshoes are quickly attached to the winter mountain boots and everyone cuts a fine figure on them in almost no time at all. Snowshoes and hiking poles can be conveniently rented from countless sports shops within the Oetz region. Far away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded ski areas you trudge across country through the quiet winter wonderland.

Guided tours on snowshoes

Ochsengarten and Hochoetz offer some of the most stunning snowshoe hikes in Ötztal. If you don't like to go alone and still want to feel the peace and closeness to nature of a snowshoe hike, simply take part in one of the guided tours offered by Ötztal Tourismus. For example, once a week there is a moonlight snowshoe tour around Ochsengarten. Equipped with headlamps, the participants feel the crunching snow under their feet, admiring the bright crescent of the moon above them. A fascinating adventure that creates memories staying with you forever!
